MethodsĪ randomized, crossover clinical trial design was used to investigate GRV in 36 critically ill, ventilated adult patients who were hospitalized in the intensive care unit. This study was designed to determine the respective effects of the semirecumbent (SR) supine and right lateral (RL) with a flatbed positions on the gastric residual volume (GRV) of mechanically ventilated, critically ill adult patients.
